UP, UP, AND AWAY!
The 2022 Winter Mountain Games preview event will feature three Skimo events, all USA Skimo National Championship races.
The Skimo Individual and Tincup Skimo Sprint will only be for USA Skimo – Skimo Vertical will have a citizens wave to all who want to compete, along with a USA Skimo wave.
* All event maps will be released the week before the event.
SKIMO INDIVIDUAL
A mind-bending course leading up Vail Mountain, down into its Legendary Back Bowls, and back up again will greet some of the world’s best Ski Mountaineering competitors, starting and finishing in Mountain Plaza for a 13 mile round trip event. * USA Skimo Event

TINCUP SKIMO SPRINT
The TINCUP Skimo Sprint Competition at the 2022 Winter Mountain Games Preview event is steep and stern, so competitors will need a quality grip to navigate up – and then back down – some of Vail Mountain’s steepest terrain for ~1/2 mile round trip. *USA Skimo Event ONLY

SKIMO VERTICAL
The Skimo Vertical competition at the 2022 Winter Mountain Games Preview event is a simple race to the top – no downhill – starting up Mountain Plaza and finishes in Mid Vail for a 2.2 mile vertical trip.*USA Skimo Event + Citizens wave.
